Greg & Andrea Reeves - Artisan Photography
www.artisanphotography.com

What is your background, education, training, work experience if other than photography?
Andrea and I are the perfect compliments for each other, kind of like two sides of a coin, always in the same place, but with a slightly different view and journey.
Andrea's career path began as a computer scientist in Rio de Janeiro, not so much from a love of computer science, but rather the practicalities of life in Brazil.
I studied mechanical engineering at the University of Illinois and quickly discovered that one year as a process engineer was more than sufficient.
We met during a one day training class in Silicon Valley, while working as database consultants and within a year, we accidentally moved in together. It's a long story.
After our wedding, we lived in Brazil for six months and had too much fun hanging out all day, taking photos, surfing (poorly), wakeboarding (better) and just being together. It wasn't too long after, that Artisan Photography was born.

What is your specialty?
Like most companies these days, we think it's important to diversify our income streams. We focus on weddings and portraits, with some commercial, product and event work as well.
What are your goals for your business in the future?
Our primary goal has and will continue to be, striking a balance between our business and family life. Our long term goal is to work 24/7: 24 hours a week, 7 months a year. |
What has been your most successful marketing effort to date?
We developed a multi-channel, relationship marketing program for our portrait business that delivered new clients with an acquisition cost at roughly 30% of our other efforts and an ROI that varied between three and five times that of print advertisement.
Why did you join the AzPPA? What has been the best thing you have gotten out of being a member? Or what do you look forward to the most out of being a member?
We joined AZPPA to become more active in the photographic community and continue to learn everything we can about our craft. The best thing about our membership has been getting exposure to a great many things we simply wouldn't have gotten on our own, including meeting other photographers and the vast educational opportunities.
