My love of photography started with a Kodak 110 camera that my grandmother gave me for Christmas when I was 10 years old.

In high school I took photography classes along with a 2 year program in graphic arts. I was employed at our local camera shop and worked 11 years for them. I enjoyed the darkroom so much that photography was my major in college. I was intrigued with my 4x5 camera and studio work. I was the editor of our college newspaper.

My next journey took me to the seas. I was a staff ship photographer on seven cruise ships on and off over a 4 year period. This experience was one of the highlights in my life.
I continued to be a freelance photographer working with Whitey
Warner Studios in North Brunswick NJ. I felt very alive and happy photographing models he had for me.

1997 John and I moved cross county form NJ to AZ. I was hired to manage a retail division for Life Touch inc. That sure gave me plenty of 2year olds to photograph and lead me to specializing in small children and families. I was also a district trainer and have hired/ and or trained over 500 new employees over my six years of service.

My son Aidan was born and soon after in 2004 I formed Creating Lasting Memories. Since Sept of 2009 we are now Jennifer Flanagan Photography. We are specializing in maternity, newborns, children and families.

My goal for Jennifer Flanagan Photography is to achieve a balance of photography and home life. Creating amazing images that move people and to make mothers cry.

My most successful marketing effort to date has been the building of relationships with other local business owner that share our same client base.

I joined AZPPA and PPA in 2004 and it has been my life line ever since. I am indebted to this association for there giving and caring about making members be the BEST photographer they ever thought possible. Every meeting and special program that I have attended has brought me one step closer to what I have become, one of the first women in over a decade to have the title of Arizona Photographer of the Year.

I can’t tell you the best thing that AZPPA has done for me because it is countless. I have enjoyed serving on the board for over 4 years and look forward to it again in the future. I’m excited now working on my PPA Masters degree. My next step is giving back. Being a mentor for new members and to start speaking, working towards my PPA Craftsman Degree will be a great privilege.
